Glitter Gourds

This morning Ava and I decided to spice up, well sparkle up, our little pumpkin. I got this idea from the 2004 October edition of Martha Stewart Living Magazine. It turns out that sparkle pumpkins actually last longer than carved ones, and of course, they're quite pretty to look at too ;)

Here's what we did:

1) With a paintbrush, we spread white glue (we used Elmer's Paper Craft Glue) over the surface of our pumpkin.

2) We then sprinkled powder glitter (we used combinations of lavender, white, and red) over glue, covering completely. Note: Be sure to place pumpkin on newspaper or paper plate to catch any excess glitter.

3) Lastly, we let our sparkly gourd dry for about an hour and were then sure to shake off the excess glitter. It's that simple!

If you haven't already, you should definitely think about sparkling up your little gourds. They're quite attractive and definitely make beautiful centerpieces!
